What happened to commenting?

Maybe it's just my gallery, but it seems like lately people just favorite or ignore. I haven't gotten constructive criticism in probably a year. I used to get a lot of comments on my work from complete strangers, but now it's a desert out there. It seems that the only people who comment on my artwork are people that I know in person (which is awesome, by the way).

Has anyone else noticed this? My gallery has more pageviews than ever, and I have more deviants watching me than I ever have before, but I am receiving less and less comments. It's kind of troubling.
